Couple on dock 1Your Innkeepers are Chris and Johnnie Fulton.  Chris grew up in a big family on the shores of Lake Pokegama before heading out on a 30+ year adventure with the US Army.  He and Johnnie met on the banks of Pokegama while Johnnie worked on the waterfront at historic Camp Mishawaka.  Their military career took them around the world, but family and the quality of life in the North woods called them back.  In 2012 they finally purchased the home that has enabled them to realize their dream of “someday” opening a bed and breakfast.

The couple values the experiences and opportunities a military life afforded them, but as exciting as it was, they know they were very fortunate to complete Chris’s career safely and in good health. They will always have high regard and respect for all members of our armed forces and are continually looking for ways to ensure that a visit to the Green Heron will be comfortable and accessible to our veterans and wounded warriors. As they continue to renovate and design guest areas, mobility and accessibility will remain a priority and suggestions are always welcome.

While being “home” is good…they kinda miss the travels, entertaining and excitement of meeting new people. They encourage you to come and stay a while, meet some new folks, share some stories, and let the Green Heron Bed and Breakfast become “home” for you too.

Meet Jake – our official greeter!

This lucky guy (and I say that because, really…what dog wouldn’t want to live on the lake…with woods…and a beach?!) came to join us in June 2015 and has been cozying up to guests ever since. He loves hitting the trails, year round. Fishing and boating are favorites, and good luck getting away from shore, on a paddle board, without a Jake escort!

He loves having dog buddies come too, just be sure to read our pet policy, before making your reservation.
